Restaurante La Rosa

Restaurante La Rosa serves a generous, complimentary buffet breakfast, complete with fresh Doka Plantation coffee. Included are scrambled eggs , gallo pinto, fresh pineapple, papaya, watermelon, bananas, periodic seasonal fruits and more. Local cheeses, buns with butter and jam, a selection of cereals with milk, juices, coffee and tea are also available.

 

Restaurante La Rosa is open for supper from early November to early May. The restaurant is surrounded by peaceful, lush tropical gardens and provides an intimate experience for our guests. The menu is a la carte, with emphasis on Italian and typical Costa Rican dishes.

Appetizers

Bruschetta

Toasted bread drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and topped with diced fresh tomatoes, parsley and seasonings.

Garlic Cheese Bread

Using locally made Costa Rican French bread, covered with crushed garlic and topped with grated parmesan cheese.

Chifrijo

A smaller serving of the very popular Costa Rican dish containing layers of rice, black beans, and cubes of baked pork. Topped with tortilla chips and avocado.

Frijoles Molidos con Tortillas Tostadas

A Costa Rican staple, mashed black beans served with toasted tortillas.

SALADS

Garden Salad

Using fresh local ingredients (many grown on Volcan Poas directly behind us!) including crisp lettuce, cabbage, ripe red tomatoes, shredded carrots and a balsamic vinaigrette.

Caprese Salad

Made Costa Rican style with local Turrialba cheese, ripe red tomatoes and sprinkled with parsley.

Vegetable Plate

A mix of carrot sticks, celery and sliced tomatoes accompanied by our creamy House Dip.

Fettuccine con Pollo en Salsa Blanca

Fettuccine pasta cooked “al dente”, served with seasoned pieces of chicken breast and covered with a creamy white sauce.

Ravioli con Tres Quesos en Salsa Roja con Carne

Ravioli stuffed with Ricotta, Mozzarella and Romano cheese served with a rich tomato based meat sauce.

Spaghetti en Salsa Roja con Carne

A timeless favorite! Spaghetti noodles smothered in a rich red meat sauce.

Penne “La Rosa” con Vegetales Mixtas

A vegetarian offering using a base of Penne Pasta and our “La Rosa” Rosado sauce mixed with a selection of garden fresh vegetables.

Tres Leches

A Costa Rican Favorite! Three types of milk are used in making this simple dessert.

Arroz con Leche

Another popular Costa Rican dessert. Rice Pudding served “La Rosa” style with raisins and cinnamon.

Piña “La Rosa”

Starting with a slice of sweet Costa Rican caramelized pineapple, we add a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and syrup.

Banana Bread

Can’t wait for breakfast!? We offer our famous banana bread complimented with a scoop of ice cream!

Helado con Frutas Mermelada

Imagine a dish of vanilla ice cream smothered with a rich, blended mix of tropical fruit.
